I hope to try out TUDE and its ability to softkick a 1.3 ROM and see if I might get it to boot WB 1.3 like I did on my Amiga 1200, except it used MAPRom to switch Kickrom. I think I will just order another SD to CF adapter.īut now to play around in WinUAE to make a versatile disk for my CD32. I guess I will have to git gud at soldering.īut overall running games should work if I just use a more compatible CF card. So a recap will probably need to happen, I already ordered a recap kit. Like with Syndicate certain sounds just seems to get skipped or something. I did encounter another game with sound issues though. Pretty sure my WHDLoad collection and other games is about 2gb, maybe 3. The spare CF card I had is only 4 GB though, but that is probably enough anyway. I thought if a CF card was not supported it would create more extensive problems than this, but I guess not. But I suspect another person with the same problem was right, that its a CF card problem. It does use an older version of WHDLoad, 17.04 I think it was, back when it required a registration. I tried another CF card and everything loaded. Right now I am trying to copy some HD installed games to the CF card through WinUAE to see if they might work. Cannon Fodder CD32, Syndicate CD32, Tales of Gorluth (although it also ended up in a black screen after finishing what I think was the last part of the intro). Is it that I need a recap or could this be something more than that? I tried several CD games that seemed to work. Its just the backplate, I think there is a SX32 expansion board as well but I have not used that. It does connect my 1084S through the SX32. I tried pressing both mouse buttons to select the boot order, but it does not seem to detect the external floppy drives. I found some Amiga demos that could load and show, even though they were also WHDLoad based.Īnyone experienced something similar? I also bought an SX32 backplate because I wanted to use floppy drives with my CD32, but that does not work either. I have been using the rest of Amiga Forever package (OS 1.3-3.9) and much more on my Pi 3B and 4. I have it loaded and can get on internet with OS4 (A2065 enabled in AF config). It loads all the WHDLoad games just fine, booting from this CF card and everything. Amiga Forever 8 (Check yours) has an emulation you can install Amiga OS 4.1 on an A4000 With Cyberstorm PPC virtual card in it. Loaded up WinUAE as administrator and used the CF card as the hard disk with an Amiga 1200 setup. I figured maybe something was wrong with the WHDLoad setup, so I connected the CF card to my PC, removed the drive letter. Sometimes I can use the special WHDLoad quit key, sometimes that is not possible either. I can play CD games on the CD32 and I can boot from the CF disk into WB 3.1.īut it when I try to load WHDLoad games, the screen just goes black. I installed a TF330 in it with a Kipper2K riser backplate. * Internet access via a cable modem behind the D-Link so shouldn't really affect results.I got myself an Amiga CD32 and it seems to be working. No hostname/domainname entered at the moment, experimented with several. DNS server valid (from nf of my Linux box), entered as DNS server in Genesis Welcome to B4X forum B4X is a set of simple and powerful cross platform RAD tools: B4A (free) - Android development B4J (free) - Desktop and Server development B4i - iOS development B4R (free) - Arduino, ESP8266 and ESP32 development All developers, with any skill level, are welcome to join the B4X community. Address of router (192.168.0.1) entered as gateway Linux box works fine with similar static IP. DHCP activated (for Windows machines, Xbox & PS2 use), but Amiga assigned to a static IP (192.168.0.xxx) unused by anything else. * Target Network 24007 10 Mbps PCMCIA card I cannot ping the machine from my Linux box on the same network. Occasionally I do get rid of the freezing, but then, DNS does not work. Even when I do get "online" I cannot get A-Web to display a single page, it freezes the system as well - reads a few bytes, then freezes, continues after a while, freezes again. I can usually resume operation by removing the card. ping amiga from laptop & laptop from amiga fails. Any suggestions 14 October 2010, 07:06 8: emuola. Usually Genesis gets me "online", but sometimes it just freezes the system completely and does nothing. Truly appreciated I just got logged in Aminet with SimpleFTP Now I just have to try lynx or some other light browser. I cannot get the network to do anything useful. I recently splurged on making a bunch of various components for the Amiga (and C64) and mostly without even a small hiccup. However, that's where the problems started. I bought a PCMCIA network card off an Amiga retailer (guaranteed to work with my Amy, that is), put in the included piggyback fix for the A1200 cardreset bug and installed the OS 3.9 network package.
